This island is a haven for farmers, and its cheese and milk are world-wide famous. Simple haulage goals. Easy money.

This scenario is based on the island of Sao Miguel, Azores, middle of the Atlantic. However, the geography of the island and names of towns have been adapted. Goals are to haul cheese and milk to the main harbours (Ponta Delgada, Ribeira Grande, Vila Franca or Povoacao) and to have a healthy Personal Net Worth.

Over time, hauling other types of cargo will provide in-game benefits. Also during the game, there will be three extra challenges. These do not enter medal calculations but they will influence your penalties and bonuses.

Spanisch-Brötli Railroad - The first railroad in Switzerland!
(Zurich to Baden, in 1847)

The "Schweizerische Nordbahn" was the first railroad company in Switzerland. It started in August 1847, to operate the section from Zurich to Baden.

At the request of some high-class people in Zurich, their employees began to make use of this connection to Baden simply to get the popular "Spanisch-Brötli", which were a speciality of a master baker in that town. For this reason, in the vernacular the railroad was soon called the "Spanisch-Brötli Railroad".

You have to connect Zurich to Baden before  August 1847!
Otherwise, the only thing you can do is to start this small scenario again.

Die Schweizerische Nordbahn war die erste Eisenbahngesellschaft der Schweiz. Sie begann ihren Betrieb am 7. August 1847 mit dem Teilstück von Zürich nach Baden.

Zu dieser Zeit war es so, dass die besseren Kreise in Zürich unbedingt die Spezialität eines Badener Bäckermeisters verspeisen mussten. Also gaben sie ihren Angestellten jeweils den Auftrag, mit der Bahn nach Baden zu fahren, um dieses quadratische, luftige Blätterteiggebäck einzukaufen. Die Nutzung der Bahn zu diesem Zweck gab ihr im Volksmund bald einmal den Namen Spanisch-Brötli-Bahn.

The SBB (Schweizerische Bundesbahene, or, Swiss federal railways) profit from favorable cost of electricity, due to the fact that they started early to build their own power stations. Also, the state helped by subsidies to develop the railway system. Your job is to connect Zurich to the large cities. Besides that, you also have to build the north-south axis.

This scenario is realistic concerning geography only. Everything else was ignored to simply get a (hopefully) interesting RT3 scenario. All this means that you have to settle the following tasks by 1950:

	Haul 60 loads of Parma Ham (meat) to St. Moritz.
	Haul 40, 70 and/or 100 loads of passengers to the health resorts Zermatt, Davos and/or St. Moritz.

SILVER
	Build the Gotthard line from Milano to Basel or in reverse and - thereafter - haul 140 loads of steel to Basel.
	Reach a PNW of $25 million.

GOLD
	Fulfill three of four auxiliary tasks.

Precondition:
	On 25 June 1930 the first GE drove from Zermatt to St. Moritz. If you fail to connect the two terminator points (in direct line and with all stopovers) up to this time, then you will be frozen in place on the Rhone glacier!

What if the Roman Empire made more peace than war? Now it's 1866 and the other empires are pushing to take over.

Roman ships have lost control of the Mediterranean Sea. How will the Romans maintain their empire? A railroad?

On this map, time & Roman history are bent. The Roman Empire is still alive. The Empire has 11 Mediterranean sea outposts. These port cities can no longer be supplied using the Roman shipping fleet. It is now blockaded by other more powerful naval empires. Rome understands the success of railroads in the American Civil War. Maybe Railroads could be used to solve the Roman shipping problem.

Can you build Roman Rail to deliver: Goods, Troops, lumber and Steel Rail from Rome to the 11 outposts?

Bronze: Supply 4 Outposts

Silver: Supply 8 Outposts

Gold: Supply 11 Outposts, all from Rome, and be debt free.

You are ordered to haul 10 each of goods, lumber, steel & troops to 6 Outposts located in Austria, France, Spain and 3 Outposts in the Ottoman Empire, and then haul 5 loads of each cargo to each of the 5 Outposts in Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia.

For Gold these cargos should come from Rome. It is important to keep Rome from being congested. Build Water and Service Facilities away from Rome.

Your objective, as a compassionate Frenchman, is to restock Ireland in alcohol using your French distilleries and breweries. Do it quickly!! The Irish are extremely thirsty!
