]The Railway Station of Kurikka was built in 1911, 100 years ago. The traffic for passengers lasted until 1968 and after that continued the freight transport of timber until 2002. Nowadays only the freight train passes by twice a day on its way between Seinäjoki - Kaskinen/Kristiinankaupunki.
The building was restored in 1990's and is much like it was before. There is a restaurant Wanha Asema in the building and a mulicultural music festival Rytmiraide takes it's place there every August.
