An exhibition going to be held at the Varldskulturmuseet.se located in Göteborg, Sweden
Please forgive me to say and script some about not-a-saw-thing, but about an exhibition going to be held at the Varldskulturmuseet.se located in Göteborg, Sweden;
https://www.varldskulturmuseet.se/en/exhibitions/ This is the same production from the Victoria and Albert Museum, London;
https://www.vam.ac.uk/exhibitions/kimon ... to-catwalk,
now being held there, where ten pieces of small art works my daughter presented for V&A last year have also been exhibited.
Her works can either be seen in youtube posted by this museum;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSgNdkcg9To&t=2s
In this video the chief curator Anna Jackson tells lot about all aspects of Kimono;s, and in its very beginning you will see a view like the one below;
ten pieces of small but a series of kimono designs are on the wall at her back. These are my daughter's.
The theme of it is KIMONO, with sub-title 'Kyoto to Catwalk'.
Lots of historical Kimono;s and its modern transformations, most of them have been collected by the museum for hundreds of years, are exhibited there.
A fantastic book showing this exhibition has already been published from the museum;
At its cover page of the chapter one, Introduction, an enlarged cut-out of daughter's work was applied;
Other works of hers are seen on the last page of this chaper;
I believe Varldskultur museet will produce almost the same exhibition at their place from Descember 12th this winter up to May next spring.
They say this exhibition will be opened at several more places of the world in the coming future.
I only wish to share this happiness with you all, the members of forum, glad if you could have fun time seeing those lovely Kimono;s and other historical trinkets along with kimono;s,
Chy

You could move/post this in off topic forum.
If it is there after new year I think I might take Anette to see this.
Its not far, 4 hrs drive.

Re: An exhibition going to be held at the Varldskulturmuseet.se located in Göteborg, Sweden
Thanks my friend, I am so glad to read any post from you here, keep take care pls. (or should I say 'shall we',,,)
In the center of Tokyo metropolis we have the Imperial Pales, and just in front of it the Mitsubishi lately built a very big intelligent buildings called 'the Oote-Mon Tower and Hotoria' where a lots of well known institutions stay for businesses; these three buildings are all of Mitsubishi's, and are the Hotoria buildings.
The Oote-Mon Tower is the one sits in the right. The pond seen in front of this is the traditional moat which belongs to the palace. This name Oote-Mon means the entrance gate to the palace, which was built by the Shogunate some three hundreds years ago, and is well preserved still now by the palace. I think this pic was shot from this Oote-Mon side some years ago.
At the ground floor of this tower building, they built a kind of semi-open space to the public called '3x3 Lab Future', a guide map below, in the middle of it you see #4 area, it says 'Reception Room', in the upper right a large drawing painted in green and red is exhibited. This is one of the works of my daughter, presented as for her graduate work nearly five years ago, which was bought by Mitsubishi for their new tower building. The title of this large work is ' The Universe after the Big Bang ', the size is 3400mm x 2300mm.
She is sometimes taken as a painter of contemporary art, but is a dye artist who uses traditional YOUZEN Dye method.
Below is also her work, titled ' To the Primary Stage of the Universe ', with which she tried to show her inspiration for the very very beginning of the universe. (1800mm x 850mm)
Thank you for reading,
Chy
