FISH COLLECTION RECORD : LOACH
collected by : Michael Lo & Methos Phang
Slimy Loach (pangio myersi)
Pangio semicincta - previously I thought its Pangio kuhlii but in fact Pangio kuhlii is only found in Java island, not Borneo.
Pangio semicincta - Previously also thought this is Pangio kuhlii.
Pangio shelfordii
Pangio shelfordii - another coloration of body pattern.
Large pangio incognito (??) ~ found in blackwater stream near Kuching. It looks similar to pangio incognito collected in Lundu area , but it's larger & darker (yellow color) than the latter one. Average length is 8cm.
Below three loaches should be the juvenile of P. shelfordii. There is a confusion with P. incognito as they looks similar to each other except P. shelfordii has 3 bars on the head, & P. incognito has 2 irregular bars. Both are found in the same locality of Batang Kayan basin of Sarawak.
Pangio shelfordii -juvenile; collected at upper kayan river
Pangio semicincta - the spot in upper part of the body is either like a ring or big black spot
Pangio shelfordii
This blue-purple colored loach was found in upper Sarawak River.
Pangio shelfordii - This loach is found in leaf litter at a clearwater stream in between Serian & Seri Aman. Please note that this is another coloration of the same species showed above.
Pangio doriae
We collected 2 loaches in upper Sarawak river. First one is golden  color and another one is pinkish color. Both of them were collected at the upper Sarawak river.
