The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed goaltender Joonas Korpisalo on injured reserve, retroactive to December 1.

Korpisalo has been sidelined due to a non-COVID-19 illness.

The 27-year-old has a 72-60-21 record with a 2.95 goals-against average, .904 save percentage, and three shutouts in 168 career games with the Blue Jackets since making his debut in 2015-16.

With both Korpisal and Elvis Merzlikins dealing with illnesses, the Blue Jackets on Thursday recalled goaltender Daniil Tarasov from the Cleveland Monsters on an emergency basis for their matchup with the Dallas Stars in Dallas.

Making an emergency start, Tarasov saved 34 shots in Columbus' 3-2 loss to the Stars.
