Description
Ludwigia repens "Rubin" is a kind of Lyudvigi from North America with amazingly beautiful dark red leaves and stalks. It gives good color contrast against green shades of an aquarium.
In an aquarium, for increase of decorative effect, lands big groups, on an average or a background of an aquarium. Regular cutting promotes more dense growth.
Lyudvigiya creeping "Rubin" of Lyudvigiya creeping "Rubin" does not impose big requirement to conditions of keeping. It is considered optimum subacidic (6,0-7,0 rn) water with the temperature of 22-26 °C, rigidity is not of great importance and can change in big limits of 2-15 °dKH.
It is one of the most exacting types of Ludwigia to lighting. In the conditions of insufficient lighting or at bad penetration of light, the plant loses a large number of the lower leaves. Under bright lighting, leaves of a plant get a saturated bright color.
As soil river sand or small gravel is suitable for Ludwigia repens "Rubin", is not larger the 2-4th and rich with nutrients. It is regularly desirable to add to an aquarium complex fertilizer for water plants. At a lack of potassium of water on leaves of this plant small openings appear.
Supply of carbon dioxide is not obligatory, but it increases growth rates of a plant.
