Description

Apistogramma borellii is a beautiful peaceful South American cichlid that is suitable for community tanks. They can be kept in pairs (1 male and 1 female) or in trios (1 male + 2 females). The fish tend to be quite shy and so it is recommended to rear them in a nice planted tank with a few small caves. As in other Apistogramma species, the males are more colorful and are larger than females. These fish are quite flexible in terms of water hardness and pH, they can be kept in both soft and hard water.

Beautiful couple

Picked up a pair of these recently. They have settled in nicely to a very heavily planted 75 gallon tank. Love the jerking movement as they slowly and methodically investigate their new digs.

Small but very healthy

Picked up a pair for my 10 gallon heavily planted setup. Shy as expected but within a few days out and about exploring their new digs. The male is colouring up just beautifully and the female is less colourful but interacting with the male as expected. The bloodworms and Australian blackworm diet with its high protein is filling them out just nicely. Finally love their staggered swimming movements.

Cute Little Apistos

Have a pair with a guppy and they've left it entirely alone. Really nice
peaceful dwarf cichlids! They're not as vibrant as the normal red Apistos but they're really adorable. I actually got these fish as a replacement for a few pigmy corydoras I ordered that Angel fins didn't have. I offered to pay the difference but they didn't allow me. Happy with these replacements!

Great Apisto

Beautiful and healthy! My females are a bit small, but are doing very well in my tank. Peacefull for dwarf chiclids.
