Alestopetersius smykalai

Alestopetersius smykalai is a peaceful schooling fish that is excellent for the community aquarium. It should not be kept in the company of fin-eating fish such as Sumatrans. The aquarium should be densely planted at the edges and background. A lot of free swimming space should be left open in the middle. Since the animals can jump quite a bit when they are frightened, a cover is not an unnecessary luxury. Subdued lighting by means of floating plants is highly appreciated.

Diet

Small live food should be given as food. Frozen and dry food are also accepted.

Breeding Alestopetersius smykalai

I have not yet been able to find anything about the breeding of the Alestopetersius smykalai in the aquarium.
