Corydoras haraldschultzi – Mosaic Corydoras

Corydoras haraldschultzi is a peaceful bottom fish that should be kept in a school of at least 10. This species needs a lot of free swimming space and a part of the bottom should consist of fine sand where it can search for food without damaging its barbels. It is very sensitive to nitrate. A regular substantial water change is much appreciated. This fish is regularly confused with Corydoras sterbai.

Deze soort is officieel beschreven in 1962 door Knaack.

Diet

It is an omnivore, it feeds especially on insects that live in the soil. Dry food is also accepted.

Breeding Corydoras haraldschultzi

Breeding proceeds as with many Corydoras species. It is best to use two males per female for breeding. After a substantial water change, the eggs are taken by the female between the anal fins and glued to a clean surface. After hatching, the fry can be raised with the finest live food and then with Artemia nauplii.
