Louis Auriacombe (Pau, 22.02.1917 - Toulouse, 03.12.1982): French conductor, singer and violinist. Studied singing and violin in Toulouse, the city with which he was connected all his life. He won a Premier Prix for piano.
1940: Sang Rudolfo in La Bohème, with Ninon Vallin as Mimi.
1940-1945: Captured by the Germans.
Gave up his singing career, started as a violinist in the Radio Symphony Orchestra of Toulouse.
1951-1956: Studied conducting with Igor Markevitch
1957-1968: assistant to Igor Markevitch
1953: Founded the Chamber Orchestra of Toulouse, with which he performed in Europe, Russia and the United States.
1971: due to a brain haemorrhage he fell into a coma, until his death in 1982.
