This Packard Eight got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1937 Packard 1502 is a restored convertible sedan powered by a 320ci straight-eight mated to a 3-speed manual gearbox with synchromesh. The seller states that the car was originally sold and exported to Europe in 1937. In the 1990s, a previous owner imported it from Genoa, Italy and initiated a restoration. The drivetrain and chassis were rebuilt, and the seller purchased the car 14 years ago as an unfinished project. A repaint was then commissioned, and a new interior and convertible top were also installed. This Packard has been driven very little since the work was completed a few years ago, and it is now being offered for sale in Grand Junction, Colorado with receipts and clear Colorado title in the seller’s name.

The Pomeranian Red finish and pin stripping were applied by Cedar Hawks after the panel alignment was done by Clayton Restorations of Castle Rock, Colorado. No rust repair was reportedly required, however a dent was repaired in the driver’s door and a new wood pillar was installed at the door frame. Since the completion of the restoration, the seller has added only 100 miles.

In 2016, the convertible top was constructed and installed by Duncan & Sons Upholstery at a cost of around $5k. The Super 8 was available in three models, and the 1502 was the longest with its 139″ wheelbase. Whitewall 6-ply Lester tires are mounted at all four corners.

Duncan & Sons Upholstery was also commissioned for the interior and carpeting for $9k. The material for the seats and door panels was provided by the seller and came in the form of eight leather hides.

The original seats frames and door panels were used and wrapped in the new leather. Despite being rebuilt by Bob’s Packards, some of the gauges are said to stick due to lack of use.

The drivetrain rebuilding was commissioned by a previous owner. When the seller aquired the project, the engine, transmission, and differential had been completed. The 320ci straight-eight (#398948) features a rebuilt starter, generator, and carburetor. The transmission is a 3-speed manual with synchromesh. Potomac Packard provided the wiring harness, and a NOS gas tank was installed.
