383-Powered 1972 Chevrolet Camaro 5-Speed

This 1972 Chevrolet Camaro is powered by a fuel-injected 383ci stroker V8 that was installed during a refurbishment completed approximately two decades ago. Work at that time included a repaint in yellow with black racing stripes as well as reupholstering the cabin in black with silver accents, and additional changes include an Eaton limited-slip differential, staggered-diameter Torq Thrust-style wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a revised front hood, a Z28-style rear spoiler, Z28 badging, Hotchkis TVS suspension components, an aluminum steering wheel, AutoMeter instrumentation, and a revised sound system with an Alpine head unit, aftermarket speakers, a Punch bass equalizer, and a trunk-mounted 350-watt amplifier. The Tremec five-speed manual transmission is said to have been installed within the last year, and other recent work reportedly includes replacing the clutch and resurfacing the flywheel. This modified Camaro is now offered by the selling dealer with magazines and a clean Utah title.

The car wears a repaint in yellow with black racing stripes and features a front spoiler, a revised front hood, a Z28-style rear spoiler, black mirror caps, an aluminum grille, quad recessed round taillights, and dual exhaust outlets. Z28 badging has been added to the grille, front quarter panels, and trunk lid. The selling dealer notes that the racing stripes don’t align at the transition between the hood and the nose panel.

Bright-finished 17″ and 18″ Torq Thrust-style wheels are mounted with Nitto NT555 tires. The car has been fitted with a Hotchkis TVS suspension kit including springs, sway bars, tie-rod sleeves, and subframe connectors. Braking is from discs at all four corners, with yellow-finished calipers over slotted and cross-drilled rotors up front. The steering pump and gearbox are noted to have been replaced approximately two decades ago.

The seating surfaces and door panels have been reupholstered in black with textured silver inserts. Interior appointments include a floor-mounted center console, Z28-branded carpets, a dash-mounted EFI display screen, an Alpine CD stereo linked with aftermarket speakers, a Punch bass equalizer, and a trunk-mounted 350-watt amplifier.

The aluminum-spoke steering wheel fronts a stainless-steel instrument panel housing AutoMeter Pro-Comp Ultra-Lite gauges. Readouts include a 160-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and a clock alongside gauges for fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 5k miles, reportedly the mileage added since the refurbishment approximately two decades ago. Total mileage is unknown.

The 383ci stroker V8 is a replacement that was installed approximately two decades ago, and it features Keith Black pistons, a COMP Cams valve train, aluminum Edelbrock Performer heads, a Holley Terminator electronic fuel-injection system, an Edelbrock intake manifold, an Eagle crankshaft, a K&N air filter, Hedman Tork-Step headers, a bright-finished radiator, 2.5″ Dynomax mufflers, and MSD ignition components. The rear wheels are driven through a Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission that was reportedly installed in 2022, when the flywheel was resurfaced and a McLeod Racing clutch is said to have been installed. The car is also equipped with an Eaton limited-slip differential, and the selling dealer indicates that the driveline has been shortened and rebalanced.
