I have a 55 gallon Fluval setup with a couple of fish. I will be uploading an image of every fish I have (all 25 of them). This is a Steveni Taiwanese Cichlid from on the eastern shore of Lake Malawi, and has been found at Taiwan Reef (Mozambique), Mbamba Bay Island (Tanzania), and Higga Reef (Tanzania). Adult males are reported to defend territories on top of rocks at depths greater than 20m. This species is probably omnivorous with a diet consisting of algae and small invertebrates. Steveni Taiwanese Cichlids have a distinct coloration whereas adult males are a striking combination of a white dorsal band and blaze on the head, blue face, blue and orange on the body, and a red anal fin margin. Adult females (will upload one soon) and fry are silver with black vertical and horizontal bars. This guy is about 3.5 - 4 inches long and has a blue head with yellow and orange body and a tinge of silver. He certainly likes his female counterpart. |
