Baby Hawksbill Turtle Hatchlings Find Their Way to Sea in Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa

Newly hatched baby Hawksbill turtles are swimming off into the ocean to begin their exciting journey of life at Vilamendhoo. The species has been categorized as critically endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, which means they face an extremely high risk of extinction.

Hawksbills nest once in every two to four years and one interesting fact is that the females return to the exact same beach where they were hatched, to lay their eggs, and Vilamendhoo is proud to say that these divine creatures have chosen their island to give such a phenomenal experience.
