The winner of the Montenegro Taekbol League - MTL, is the Podgorica team Kurjaci, who won the final in Cetinje with 2:1 (12:2, 4:12, 15:13) against their biggest competitors, ekpa Stroj LOB.
It is the fourth consecutive triumph of Kurjak in the MTL league, and in the final they saved two match points. Marko Žarković and Andrija Jovanović play for Kurjak, who ensured participation in the World Championship in Thailand.
Žarković secured a place in singles, as the best player in Montenegro.
The final tournament in the capital brought a lot of excitement and a taekbol spectacle. Especially in the final of the main category, men's doubles, even though Kurjaci had a chance to reach the final itself, which they reached with a reversal against Borac from Bijelo POLJE, who did not use the match point.
In the men's singles, Montenegro has a new champion, as Marko Žarković beat last year's champion, Željko Janković, 2:0 (12:5, 12:9) and confirmed his triumph from the tournament in Tivat, thereby booking his ticket to the World Championship.
And his teammate from Kurjak, Andrija Jovanović, rejoiced in another final - together with Jovana Zlaticanin, he won first place in the mixed doubles category in the Professors team, they celebrated against "PG Teqers 2", which consists of Vaso Pejović and Sara Draganić, with the result 2:0 (12:5, 12:9).
The tournament in Cetinje, which was part of the #BeActive project and the European Week of Sports, was also marked by the doubles competition for boys, in which the best were Vaslilije Jablan and Simon Kršić, who beat Bogdan Borilović and Danilo Maljević 2:0 in the final (12 :11, 12:3) and won an Intersport voucher of 100 euros each.
Taekbol as a sport is flourishing in Cetinje, which already has several TEQ tables, and its multifunctionality and the sport that can be played on it, TEQ Voly, were demonstrated by members of OK Lovćen, the new Montenegrin super league.
The summer tour in the Montenegrin Taekbol League concluded with a tournament to remember, which brought together 64 competitors in four categories, who competed for a prize fund of 1.500 euros. However, the teqball summer is not over yet for our players - on September 30, the last, fifth tournament of the Adriatic Teqball League awaits them, which will be held in Skopje.
