Ephs defeat Diplomats 9-0 during senior class's final home match

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA- The Ephs swept Franklin and Marshall today 9-0, due to hard work at the top of the ladder.

At the end of this weekend, the team was ready to defeat the Diplomats as efficiently as possible, despite strength at the top of the opponents' line-up. This was executed impressively, especially considering how tired the team was due to their long weekend of match play.

Today was the final home match of this senior class's Williams career, which was an exciting and thoughtful part of the day's matches.

Highlights of the team match included Co-captain Ananya Mahalingham-Dingra's comeback at the number five position during her second game; after losing the first game 12-10, she cleanly defeated her opponent 11-0 in the second and went on to win the match in 4 games. Co-captain Nicole Friedman also played a great 5-game match, winning decisively in the 5th game with a perfect cross drop. Co-captain Hayley Parsons, at the number two position, played well and won against an opponent she has played many times before. Caroline Hogan won quickly and easily at the number nine position, finishing up a great weekend of consistent play.

The team is tired and ready for a rest, but is also excited to begin preparing for Little Threes next weekend at Wesleyan.

Co-captain Hayley Parsons stated, ""I've never been so proud of the Williams women's squash team. Everyone played to their utmost potential for all four matches and the results truly reflect this."

Assistant coach Blair Dils said, "This was a grueling weekend for our team, but the results were very impressive today. To beat Franklin and Marshall 9-0 says a lot about the depth and consistency of our team."
