A wonderfully quirky aircraft, like a teapot with stubby wings! You have created an authentic, retro, fun aircraft to fly and it really feels like you are riding a go-kart with wings and a small jet at the rear; it takes patience and a steady hand to fly, but it is worth the effort.

Well done and thank you for producing such a fine aircraft and frankly for having a sense of humour - I refer to your writing style, not the aircraft in any demeaning sort of way, haha! I see that you and at least one other have a personal/poignant attachment to this aircraft, so again thank you for sharing the aircraft, your story and your passion. 5-star work, kudos quantumac!

Well done - my only wish is a basic autopilot, even if just a heading/altitude hold. My favorite plane to fly in X-Plane 11 now.

Response from the author:

The EFIS version, now available, has an autopilot.

This is probably my all-time favorite flyer for short VFR hops.

The Microjet also makes an exceptional inspection aircraft, when working on custom scenery.  The bubble canopy provides an excellent view, and it's just fast enough to get around a large area quickly, without being too fast to see problems with mods.

This is one of favorite X-planes EVER. I almost didn't d/l it as I thought it was a quick and dirty freeware file. Wrong! This aircraft is payware quality and I actually use it to fly cross county. Good speed and outstanding visability.. Great detailing and flight dynamics. I enjoy flying both the G1000 and steam gauge versions. If you don't have them, you're missing out. Also, this plane also flies great in VR..

Can't give you thanks enough for your contribution.

Fantastic little jet. Very well done optically and a pleasure to fly. For me this is the fun part of x-plane to get to fly planes like this and see what they are like. The wing bending gets a little scary at higher speeds. Thanks very much.

TLDR THANK YOU!  This was my first AC download for xplanes after not touching a sim for 25 years and hardly flying at all for 20.

What a pleasure to fly an aircraft that's been on my homebuilt radar for decades.  I've seen it fly at Oshkosh - had no idea it would be that twitchy lol.

So thanks again - so much work went into this and I appreciate it.  Would like to try creating a custom AC some day, but steep learning curve no doubt.

Thank you so very much, an aircraft of this quality and appeal for free!  Did I die and go to Heaven?  Seriously, this delight is above and beyond in every way.  I hesitate to delve into specifics, sufficient to say, it looks great, flies so so well and creates such a sense of immersion I shall probably fly nothing else this side of Christmas!

p.s.  😋That one thing you missed, it really should have a tooled metal instrument panel, not that cheap plywood one.😋

p.p.s.   Do you have a Paypal account?  Or whatever,   I would like to buy you a beer (or three).

Best wishes,    Joe   (twosevenleft)

This amazing rendition has just become my favorite aircraft for exploring Orbx's eye candy in VR! I can't say any more that has not already been said in the other comments. Outstanding work!

Amazing Aircraft!

Payware Quality for free.  One of my favorite planes to fly.  Just don't try a long cross country!

The shiny metal livery looks AMAZING around Mojave with photoreal scenery!

Response from the author:

With the new EFIS version of the model, you should be able to fly about 500 nautical miles at FL250.  So that's about 4 hops to get across the continental US.

こんにちは
、それは非常に素晴らしい航空機です、私はこれで国内の空港で飛びたい。
アイドリングが高すぎるので止められないので、アドバイスをください。ありがとうございました。

Response from the author:

Click on the thrust attenuator lever to divert the engine thrust to the sides. The thrust attenuator lever is on the left side of the aircraft near the pilot's left leg. It has a red handle. You can also press the "B" key to engage the parking brake.

Google Translation to Japanese:

推力減衰レバーをクリックして、エンジン推力を横にそらします。 推力減衰器レバーは、航空機の左側、パイロットの左脚の近くにあります。 赤い柄が付いています。 「B」キーを押してパーキングブレーキをかけることもできます。

I had a blast flying this little "speeder"!  Very easy to fly!

Well done!

This is a fantastic aircraft looks and flies extremely well, I found the exact same model on Blender share forum and was going to convert it for x plane, but done a search first and found this and thank you for sharing the blender file that helps a lot. I think the female pilot is amazing because you can see her breathing. I will make a new liverie  from your existing file and upload when done.

Response from the author:

Yeah, I went kinda crazy with the whole "breathing" animation.  😎

I wish X-Plane could do deformation animation, where the mesh itself is deformed at the vertex level.  Unfortunately, it can only do object-level animation, so getting rid of seams at joints of the pilot is not currently possible.  Theoretically I could do something like that myself in my plugin code if Laminar Research would give us API access to the mesh, but they don't.  I've asked for it, but it's waaaay down on their priority list.

Good little flyer, looks great, outstanding visibility. With glass cockpit easy set up and take off, vnav is a little tricky when to turn on.Instrument landing would be fine if the system did not shut power off right after gs locked on, if I could solve this issue it would be a 5 star rating. I enjoy flying this aircraft. Virtual or real? very close.

Response from the author:

I implemented the BD-5J EFIS glass cockpit using X-Plane's standard X1000 EFIS, which is based on the Garmin G1000.  All I did was model the panel housing and animated buttons.  Essentially the EFIS display and its behavior is controlled by Laminar Research.  If there are parameters which can fine-tune the X1000 behavior in the simulator, I am unaware of them.  If you believe the behavior of the instrument landing system is in error, please file a bug report with Laminar Research.
