From a letter written to me by my grandmother regarding her grandfather Billy D who is my 3rd greatgrandfather:

He came from near Philidelphia, PA to Nacogdoches Texas and built a log house on his farm near Nacogdoches in 1843. He and his wife had a child Susannah Woods Hayter (my grandmother) was reared in this log house, married to Thaddeus Calvin Sitton and they lived with her parents, my mother & brothers & sisters were born & reared in it. This house still stands on the 404 acre farm which is still in the family. My mothers brother Sam Sitton owned it when he passed away years ago his wife Johnnie Harrell Sitton restored this house & lived in it at age 89. Her son Sam (Sambo) Sitton lives in a newer house on the place (raised hogs)

It's my understanding this house my grandmother wrote about that Billy D Hayter built is now at Millard's Crossing Historic Village

Billy D Hayter & Mary Jane Evans had seven children:

William Jefferson Hayter 1829-1859 (Soldier)
Sarah Jane Hayter Watkins 1830-1874
Mary Abigail Hayter Boyd 1832-1918
Minerva Elizabeth Hayter Rainbolt 1837- 1858
Susannah Woods Hayter Sitton 1842-1918
John J. Hayter 1843-1863 (soldier)
James Wallis Hayter 1848-1857
