The Kesäranta holiday complex is located on the island of Kyläniemi, 300 km from Helsinki. The road passes through Ruokolahti. Ferry crossing from the mainland to the island in just 5 minutes.
The village of Kyläniemi in Taipalsaari is an island on the beautiful shores of Lake Saimaa, on the border of the regions of South Karelia and South Savo. The island is connected to the mainland by a ferry, to the center of Ruokolahti municipality 35 km. There are a dozen houses with permanent residents and almost 400 dachas on the island.
The dacha complex Kasyaranta (translated as Summer Beach) is an area of more than 4 hectares on the northern coast of the island. The complex consists of 4 residential buildings with 4 rooms each and 4 log cabins. Two public saunas and a canteen building.
The cape of the island of Kyläniemi, crashing into the waters of the Great Saimaa, is part of the second ridge of the Salpausselkä. Kyläniemi is an important geological, biological and natural part of the landscape. Kyläniemi belongs to the site included in the state natural heritage protection program and the Natura 2000 nature protection program. On the cape of the island of Kyläniemi there is a public recreation area called Rastinniemi, owned by the South Karelia Recreation Foundation.
You can get to the walking trail from the intersection of the nearest roads, a ten-kilometer route.
Because of the unique wind conditions, paragliders refer to Kyläniemi as "Little Denmark".
