MORRISON STRONG

For the second season in a row, the Huskies are proud to host the Morrison Strong game in support of former Husky assistant coach Kevin Morrison and his family in the fight against Alzheimer's. Kevin is a beloved Husky, who in May 2021 was diagnosed with Stage 5 Early Onset Alzheimer's. Head coach Tina Langley has known him for years, and is grateful for the opportunity to come together as a Husky family to support the Morrisons.

"Kevin Morrison is one of the greatest men you'll ever meet," Langley said ahead of last season's Morrison Strong game. "He has given his life to this game and to young women and to growing them as people, and now it's time for us to give back. It's time for us to support him and his family in this journey."

On behalf of Morrison Strong, $5 of every ticket purchased to the weekend's games through a special offer will benefit the Morrison Family. The Morrison Strong game will be Friday, Dec. 30 vs. Colorado, and tickets purchased to that game as well as to Sunday's game vs. No. 11 Utah will benefit the cause. Click HERE to purchase.

"We were honored to be able to host the Morrison Strong game last season, were incredibly grateful for the community's response to it, and are looking forward to be able to host this game again in support of the Morrison family this season," Langley said.

CONFERENCE OPENER (12.11)

Washington opened Pac-12 play with a big win over Washington State in the first round of the Boeing Apple Cup Series, snapping WSU's 5-game series win streak. The last time UW won the matchup was 12/29/19 in Pullman. At home, the last series win for UW was 1/21/18. The 8-1 start to the season is the best nine-game start to Washington's season since 2016-17, when the Huskies also started 8-1 and went on to an NCAA Tournament appearance. Washington shot 54% from the field - the best all season. Coming into the game, WSU had only allowed opponents 36%. Five Huskies scored in double digits: Lauren Schwartz (21 points), Jayda Noble (14), Dalayah Daniels (12), Trinity Oliver (12), and Haley Van Dyke (10). Schwartz's 21 points was not only a season high, but also her highest scoring game as a Husky. Daniels recorded her seventh career double-double (and third as a Husky) with 10 rebounds to go with her 12 points.
