Artem Valitov's Impressive Rotary 13B-PP PS13 Build

Artem Valitov's passion for the Nissan PS13 started from his childhood fascination with its angular body lines and distinctive front end appearance. However, he found the stock engines Nissan offered for the PS13 to be uninspiring. Determined to create a truly exceptional custom build, Artem embarked on a journey that would transform his cherry-colored 1990 Nissan PS13 into a '90s mash-up masterpiece.

Artem's vision involved combining the sleek aesthetics of the PS13 with the heart of a Mazda RX-7. With the assistance of Nicon Rotary, Artem undertook an engine swap centered around a race-ported, naturally aspirated 13B-REW unit sourced from an FD3S RX-7. The rotary engine underwent extensive modifications, including peripheral porting, slide throttle fuel injection, and clearanced high-compression rotors fitted with Rotary Aviation apex seals. Additional upgrades such as a custom-fitted RX-8 oil pump, a one-off oil pan, and a custom stainless steel exhaust system were meticulously incorporated.

The result of Artem's craftsmanship is an engine that produces over 300hp and delivers an exhilarating exhaust note as the revs climb towards 10,000rpm. Complemented by the PS13's light weight of 2,335lb (1060kg), the powertrain creates an unmatched driving experience.

In terms of aesthetics, Artem meticulously customized the PS13 to achieve a low and clean appearance. Custom work on the bodywork, including large front wheel tubs in the engine bay, was performed, while the front subframe and suspension were raised to maintain correct geometry. The chassis sits on Kei Office coilovers with a custom StaticMotion air-cup kit for added adjustability.
