Car fire closes Sunset Highway near 217, police and fire reopen highway

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Sunset Highway going westbound was closed just before Highway 217 due to a car fire, Beaverton Police said Monday evening.

ODOT cameras in the area show traffic crawling coming over the top of Sylvan Hill.

Photos from Beaverton Police show a vehicle engulfed in flames.

Firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue worked to extinguish the fire.
