First time at this restaurant and I was very pleasantly surprised!! The staff was super friendly and helpful when asked questions about the menu. The place was clean and organized and the food... well, that was indeed the best part!
To start we shared two empanadas, one cheese and one beef; the girl suggested to get the yuca ones and she was definitely right.. those empanadas were amazing!!
We also shared the babyfongo as a starter and wow wow wow!! Soo garlicky and so creamy, with a good amount of shrimps in it and the plantain sooo delicious ! I will most certainly order this next time!
For the main dish my fiancé ordered the cazuela de mariscos and it was soo tasty!! You could taste the ocean in it... it was light but at the same time full of flavor!!!
I ordered the ensopado de camarones and it was also delicious!!! It's a little bit thicker because it comes with the rice inside and lots of shrimps!!!!
I most definitely recommend this place! It was a very enjoyable lunch!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Isaac V.Miami, FL0175Oct 1, 2022
Oh my god
Been to a bunch of Dominican places but this one ...
DELICIOUS!
Flavorful food, presentation was great and the portions were generous.
The Trifongo was amazing, accompanied by the macitas which were moist and flavorful.
The arroz con pollo had just the right blend of seasonings.
The staff was friendly and helpful and the restaurant had great ambiance and the music was great.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Casey M.Miami, FL803987May 12, 2021
My husband was in the mood for a Dominican style breakfast Sunday and we found BohÃo.
First, when we normally eat out for breakfast, the coffee comes out relatively quickly. In Bohio's case, the coffee took a good 15 minutes, if you don't mind, you're good to go. My husband loves his coffee so he wasn't happy. We sat right at the counter "so they don't forget us"--he said.
My husband orders us "Quattro Golpes" which is Mashed Green Plantains, Salami, Fried Cheese, and Sausage.
Coffee: from the looks of it (sitting at the counter in our direct line of sight), it looked old and ultimately tasted burnt and lukewarm.
The Mangu (Mashed Green Plantains) was a little creamy for my taste and didn't have much flavor, I struggled to eat it but that may just be my preference for texture. I prefer my mashed potatoes a little chunky too. The salami was over cooked and lost its flavor and the fried cheese was lukewarm. About the only flavorful thing on the plate was the sausage and it was about the size of my thumb. As a reference guide, my husband says I have the hands of a child.
Overall, the service took long and the food wasn't that delectable. As we all know, when you eat out, you want to feel full and satisfied and we were neither. Maybe we'll give them another try, but not any time soon.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 9, 2019
We came here for an early dinner before a lot of errands. There were only two other tables (plus a couple people at the bar/counter) occupied, but a number of people came in for take out while we were dining.
Service was pleasant. The gal (from the Dominican Republic) got to practice her English while we practiced our Spanish.
We started by sharing a small avocado salad. We added lime, salt, oil and vinegar as the salad came undressed. The Florida avocado was ripe and buttery in flavor over a bed of shredded iceberg lettuce with a tomato and cucumber slice. A refreshing start.
I then had their mini mofongo appetizer. 3 small mounds of mashed plantains with a well in the center of each that was stuffed with shrimp in a garlic sauce. Extra sauce was poured on the side, too. I really liked this dish, but it was very filling. I wound up taking half of it home.
My husband also had an appetizer. It was described as a basket of tostones filled with your choice of meat. The basket was actually flat pieces of fried plantains served along side chunks of very tender pork with a few pieces of green and red peppers. He had chosen the pernil pork. I tasted it and it too was delicious. The meat fell apart in shreds and was quite flavorful.
We did add lime and salt to all our dishes, but that's a personal preference. And we made sure we each had some of my garlic sauce -- so we were sure to avoid any vampires while grocery shopping.
Prices were reasonable. And we will definitely be back.Helpful 20Thanks 0Love this 22Oh no 0 - Sep 9, 2019
What a treasured find!
They had my favorite beveridge in the whole world.... Parcha! (Aka Passion fruit or Maracuya).
An intriguing menu with Latin, Dominican, and Puerto Rican dishes to choose from on their menu. Great prices for large portions.
My sweetie and I chose some of the appetizers. We shared a small Avocado salad with some of the smoothest buttery flavored avocado slices with shredded iceberg lettuce and diced tomatoes.
For my "entree " I had the Tostone con Pernil chunks appetizer which was entree size!
Delicious chunks of tender roasted Pernil that melted in your mouth with a great seasoned pork flavor similar to my Son in law's holiday Pernil he makes for holiday occasions.
My wife had the Baby Mofongo Shrimp in Garlic Sauce served in 3 mini mofongo cups that was very yummy!
Great friendly staff and a talented kitchen staff!
A place we will be visiting again soon!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - 44686106Mar 14, 2022

It is in a very unassuming shopping center on Atlantic boulevard in Pompano Beach between federal highway and Dixie highway but make no mistake this place is the real deal! I decided to try them a phone go because it's very hard to find and had it with the shredded park with a little side of juice and I must tell you it was pretty mouth watering good! The waitress Maria was very nice and we had conversation about Where we were from and told stories back-and-forth about our families and of course the subject always coming back to food... On Friday nights they have karaoke and on Saturday nights they have live music she told us and I was very happily surprised when I saw a female chef walk out the door and asked how we liked our food! We will definitely be back and try a few more of their delectable looking menu items!
