Was hoping to get some Argentinian food while we were down in Miami. Very pleasant atmosphere and laid back vibe in this place. Lunch specials were reasonably priced and I had a very well seasoned and tasty steak with yucca fries and my wife had a rigatoni dish. What really capped this meal off was the "Mochavanna" coffees we had. This place has a real espresso machine and they know what they're doing. Very elegantly served in a glass mug with a cookie on the side.

I'd come back if I'm in town again.

To get to this location you must drive through an entire shopping plaza. It is located in front of Cine Mark, the movie theater. This location is extremely chic. Even though it's called Havanna, it is an Argentinian restaurant. All the servers wear and Argentinian soccer shirt. Their are many decors based on Argentinian culture. Many wine bottles, and on the wall you could read the history of this location.

Their spinach appetizer is extremely delicious, and with their warm bread, it is literally to die for . Major YUM.
I felt that it took a very long time for them to bring our entrees. Most probably they only had one cook. Once we got our meals, everything looked presentable.

I had their chicken Parmesan with sweet potato and their salad. The food to me was average, a bit too greasy for my taste. I will definitely come back to try something different.

We were invited to Havana and not knowing anything about it we were quite surprised. The atmosphere was so nice and we roamed our the entire restaurant looking at all the decor and displays.

We were a large group and the service staff was so friendly they explained the menu and made suggestions. Which probably sounds normal but these two seem so animated as if they wanted to make sure we had the best dinner ever.

After dinner we walked to the dessert counter and wow, what a delicious experience.

I can't tell you how excited I am that we finally have an Havanna here!

Let's start with service.... it was bad. Like terribly bad. But I expected this because 1) they're pretty new 2) it's Argentinian (my people suck at service sadly). Went with my whole family, was there about two hours and we had no idea who the server was. Someone came to take the order of only 3 people in the party and then left. Then after waiting we asked around if someone could take the rest of our orders (super weird). Everyone who came to the table was different. The food came out in a bizarre order. They forgot 2 coffees and everything was cold.

So why am I giving it 4 stars? The food. The roundish sandwiches were meh but the pastries were divine. The panqueques were amazing, just sad they didn't have it in rum. The one thing I really wanted to try was the pistachio dessert but they were out, I'll have to come back.

The best part by far was the "shop" area. They have tables and shelves with their goods and as you can see by the pictures we bought a sh*t ton of stuff. They had a section that was buy 2 and get 20% off. If you go for this deal make sure you tell them because they apparently didn't know they had this deal when I went and they made a fuzz even though the sign with the advertising of 20% was less than a foot away from the register.

The alfajores were the freshest I have EVER had. The conitos were orgasmic and so soft!!

Make sure that if you're buying stuff that you're paying it separately than your "meal" because it looks like they were about to ask me to tip on ALL my purchases (food AND my goods)

The location is kinda in the middle of nowhere, not sure why they chose Davie when Argentina's are usually clustered on the beach. But the space is beautiful and nicely decorated. Very traditionally and modern glam. The tables are big and comfortable and they have an adorable couch area.

Price- the goods are totally worth it! 6 full size Havanna Alfajores for $10 is a STEAL! At the place I usually buy them they charge $15 for same box and not nearly as fresh. The menu items were average priced I'd say about 15-20 pp if you're going to eat and not just coffee.

I am giving this place four starts because I am hopefully they'll turn the service around and I don't want to see it close. I am actually going to come back next weekend and update with hopefully a better experience.

Totally recommend it, specially if you are Argnetinea and want a taste of home. Made me totally miss Buenos Aires.

Lived in Pines all my life and this little gem is fairly new. I actually still thought it was the pizza place and was surprised that it wasn't when my GPS told me we've arrived. What's an even better realization is how cute and refreshing Havanna is! What you see on the outside is not what you expect on the inside. It's Argentinian in background with yummy choices that vary from salads to sandwiches. The menu is much bigger than what I expected as well. Once I saw smoked salmon, I knew that was it. I ordered a smoked salmon salad - it was good but nothing special. As opposed to what's previously been said, my friend and I were lucky to have very good service from our waiter and that's why I'll be visiting again! Before leaving, they send you away with your bill in a book where you can sign and leave reviews. It was very creative and let's newcomers know what's up!

For the next visit, I plan on trying an alfajor! They looked delightful! It's definitely a nice change of pace from the usuals around the Pines area.

Dinner Review: Havanna is a large Argentinian Bakery, Market, Bar, Restaurant. There are hundreds of Havanna's in Argentina and internationally, but this is the first US outpost. The place is huge. Think of a Panera with much more character and charm! One big difference from Panera if that Havanna does so much more. It has dinner, alcoholic beverages, music, sells retail chocolates and cookies. In my opinion, it just does too much to do one thing really well.

Havanna is a stone's throw away from Cinemark Paradise 24 so we have had dinner there a couple of times after the movies. The dinner menu consists of appetizers, salads, entrees, steaks, and pasta. Still, with all of the items in the menu, it was difficult for me to find items that really appealed to me. For that reason the first time we dined at Havanna, I ordered their Burger. The burger was big, cooked perfectly medium, but did mot have much flavor. I did enjoy the accompaniments which included the sweetest caramelized onions and mushrooms. On a recent visit I shared the Gambas Al Ajillo appetizer with 14 year old. Once you wiped some of the oil off the shrimp was not bad. On both visits Havanna offered two soups: Zucchini and Carrot. They would not allow me to taste the soups before I ordered. I am not a fan of this policy. Even some of the poshest restaurants have allowed me to try a soup before I have ordered it. This past visit I threw caution to the wind and tried the Zucchini soup. Bad decision. Made with lots of cream, the soup was just too frothy, without any substance.

On the brighter side, the salmon in 14 year old's Caesar was well prepared. 15 year old enjoyed his pasta on both visits. I thought the Short Rib Ravioli was tasty but the short rib inside was indistinguishable from any other type of meat. Husband enjoyed his steaks on both visits.

Service was super fantastic. We had the same server both nights. She recognized us after our first visit and tried hard to please. When she saw I did not eat the zucchini soup she offered the carrot soup instead but I declined. She also brought us plenty of the rolls, which were fantastic.

I thought prices were a little high for dinner. I think it's a little hard to be a one shop fits all type of place. The baked goods looked fabulous. Havanna looks like a nice place for lunch or to sit with friends for coffee or do work. However, it would not be my ideal choice for dinner again.

My wife and I went after enjoying a movie at Cinemark...this building has had several unsuccessful restaurants and since this was a new one we decided to give it a try...we both ordered the Steak Milanese with rice. The rice was not horrible but it was below avg for a latin restaurant, but the steak had to be the worse I've had in yrs. Everything was completely dry, not even a bean or two to help out the rice . The only saving grace was the cappuccino & bread at the beginning of the meal. The only reason I didn't give it 1or 2 stars was because the staff was nice and the place was very clean...had I graded it just on food alone.. definitely 1 star. The place has a lot of potential...but they need a new chef asap or sadly it be gone with the wind like the previous restaurants.

On a rainy and humid Saturday night I went north to visit a good friend and meet her baby, a meeting that was long overdue. Initially, we agreed to order takeout but plans quickly changed and we found ourselves at Havanna. And boy am I glad we did.

Havanna is an Argentinian bakery with a coffee shop feel, restaurant, and lounge. It can easily adapt to whatever your need may be. Don't let the Havanna name fool you, it's got nothing to do with Cuba. This topic came up during our group's conversation... hard for the place not to be confused with Cuban food with a name like Havanna. I've been to the Sheridan shopping center where Havanna is located, many, many times. This space is brand new and was built to house Havanna.

Curious as we are we researched it's history, we were convinced that this was a well established business and not a one off. Too much attention to detail. Everything is far too organized. We weren't wrong. Turns out Havanna originated in Buenos Aires about 70 years ago and is known for its Alfajores. Havanna, in Sheridan, is the first location in the states. Many others exist, mostly, all over South America. There are others in Mexico and Spain.

At any rate, the service was simply phenomenal. It felt like I was visiting a friends house. From the candid recommendations to the dialogue, the entire experience was very warm.

Drink wise, we opted to share a bottle of Malbec. It was quite good (by the way, bottles are sold at a retail price for you to take home). There's a $10 uncork fee. Reasonable considering bottles are priced at a retail cost.

As far as food, we ordered a queso fundido to share which came with warm and delicious bread rolls. I opted for the chimichurri churrasco steak sandwich, my friends ordered the salmon and the steak Gorgonzola Salad. Everyone was incredibly pleased with their meal. We ended up sharing the apple tart with ice cream and a dulce leche crepe. The crepe was incredible and is a large portion.

We agreed that going back to Havanna was a must. Being that it is a fairly new restaurant, we hope that they find success. They have a great thing going.

On a last note, the music that was playing was just right. From the levels to the type of music.

I checked this place up on yelp and since my neighbor was familiar with it, but outside of the U.S., she wanted to come and check it out. I, on the other hand, was clueless. I'm not gonna lie, I thought it was a Cuban place, and thought they just wanted to be different and add an extra n to Havanna. Yeah, yeah, a blond moment, but hey you learn something new each day. So, no, it's not Cuban, it's an Argentinian brand that's been around over 70 years. They're famous for their 'alfajor' a cookie sandwich with a dulce de leche cream in the middle. On my visit however, I didn't even try the cookies. I guess I have to go back and see what the hype is all about.

      sun-sentinel.com/local/broward/davie/fl-dcg-havanna-davie-1115-20171110-story,amp.html

For the place itself, I did like the layout inside, it's big, spacious, contemporary, and has an industrial flair. We went on a Thursday night and I thought the place should be packed. But to my surprise it wasn't. It must be that it's new or maybe it gets crowded on weekends. It could also be that its location isn't helping since it's right across from the Cinemark. Everyone goes to the movies and most go home after. And if people want to go to eat, they probably go to TGIF next door or the other few restaurants close by. That being said, it's gonna be a challenge for Havanna to stay in business because as I recall, this locale was once Scarfone's Coal Fire Pizza then it was Fusion Cafe, and before Havanna, it was Rebar Restaurant Bar & Lounge. So let's see how long this will last.

I'm giving it 5 stars because although it was empty, it satisfied all my basic requirements, clean, friendly, great food, reasonable prices, and good portions. I ordered the Chimichurri Steak sandwich and my neighbor had the Gnocchi Bolognesa. My sandwich was good but ended up using a knife and fork since I was making a huge mess. The pasta portion was good and she was happy with her choice. For dessert I had a tiramisu which was also yummy. Another thing I liked was the little details that add to the experience, such as the waiter bringing out a box of tea choices for one to choose and bringing out your receipt inside a book in which you can leave a note on. Check out the pics on yelp for yourselves.
