I have very mixed feelings about this doctor's office. I was a patient here for nearly ten years and had various experiences along the way. While I was a student at UM, the office was very close and convenient. Through the years, I moved and continued to come back but it's just not worth it anymore.
After countless appointments, I'd say it's very hit or miss with whether you will wait a long time to be seen or not. I always tried to book my appointments as early as possible to avoid them getting backed up, but the uncertainty is stressful. Parking is available in the same garage as the Whole Foods and if you go too late, it gets difficult to find parking, as well.
Towards the end, I became frustrated with how quick my appointments would be. I felt like the doctor was always in a rush to move on and didn't take time to really talk to me about my needs, even after being a patient for so long.
The office itself isn't super inviting and I feel like their systems could be updated. I did things like change my name and address countless times through their different portals and found outdated info each time I came in.
I recently switched practices and honestly regret not doing it sooner. I no longer have a feeling of dread when my appointments come around!Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Nov 26, 2018
I've been coming to Dr. Villa's office for years and absolutely love her due to her attentiveness and professionalism with her special touch of kindness. The office is always spotless clean even the patient's bathroom. The office rarely overbooks...in the past 15 years around a handful of times is when I've waited a long time due to delays. Dr. Villa takes her time to explain everything and isn't rushed when attending you.
The staff for the most part are nice but if they can improve on something it'll be in returning phone calls but all in all I will continue to be a loyal patient to Dr. Villa. She's the BEST!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Carnegie D.Miami, FL07May 22, 2019
I will no longer be a patient here!! They overbook appointments. I had an appointment today scheduled for 10:30am and was still waiting by 12. I left and went to another OGBYN and was seen in less than 15 minutes.
This treatment is so RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL to patients. Patients have work and other commitments and don't want to spend time in the waiting room all day. It's especially annoying that they claim there is no wifi. At least if you're waiting, you can check your email, etc.
My first experience was also terrible. Dr. Villa recommended and IUD, so I tried it. I nearly PASSED OUT when it was first placed. I ended up walking home because I was in no condition to drive. (The nurses didn't care!) I was bleeding so much (through my tampons, clothes, etc) I begged them to take it out. The Dr. said that is normal. I was bleeding through my clothes and onto furniture! A few days later, I called again and begged her to take it out. I waited in the waiting room for 2 hours to get a simple IUD removed. This Dr. shouldn't even be in practice anymore. She doesn't recognize the dangers of that situation. She walked in and surprisingly said, "oh wow! You are bleeding!" The staff is so disrespectful and rude.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Clari C.New York, NY100278761Jun 17, 2015
I have been a patient at the office for 6 years now and I have nothing but good things to say.
Let's start by saying how convenient it's for the office to provide free parking in a garage. I think this is the only free garage parking left in Miami. Talking about convenience, there is a Whole Foods in the first floor of the building (awesome!).
Well, if this is not good enough then you have Dr. Letty Villa which is a very knowledgeable doctor, very sweet and nice. Not like most places in Miami, you never feel like she is rushing you to finish explaining your problem and she is always ready to give you the answer you are waiting to hear. She is very genuine and I almost feel like I'm talking to my Mom, she is just so nice!
The office runs pretty well, everything is very clean and organized.
The staff is nice and I've never had an issue with scheduling an appointment.
Also, I have never had to wait more than 15 min. after my appointment to be seen.
The only annoying thing about the office is the electronic form you have to fill in EVERY time I go.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mimi S.Key Biscayne, FL31343Nov 27, 2018
Very disrespectful of people's time. I waited 1:45 in the waiting room before being called in, at which point I changed into a robe and realized I had gotten my period. Dr. Villa came in and told me it was my decision if I got the Pap smear done in the moment or that I could come back and do it at another time. She left and 30 minutes later I had to go find the nurse to tell her I wanted the Pap smear done on the same day. The doctor then came back and told me the test might not be a good idea and that it should be done another day.
All in all, I waited 3 hours for them to tell me they couldn't do anything. Unless you have all day, don't go here!!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Nathalie G.Miami, FL1122921Jun 16, 2010First to Review
Alright ladies. Let's be frank. When it comes to visiting the gyno, we don't trust just ANYONE with our pooty tang.
I haven't been to many. I'm sure the one you've got is great. Let me tell you about Letty Villa M.D.
She's so wonderful, so feminine, so knowledgeable, so capable, and sooo caring.
I've been with her now for 3 years and I'm never nervous to be there, the nurses always remember me and are always encouraging of small talk.
What more can you ask of a gyno? Even after losing my insurance she's helped me needle my way through the system to find affordable gyno care all the while knowing that I intend to go back to her as soon as I'm re-insured.
Going to the gyno is a nerve wracking experience, especially when you know you might hear bad news. She's a very supportive doctor who understands that people don't just go to her for her handi-work, (excuse the pun). We have questions and she answers them, we have doubts and she is re-assuring, we have ailments and she has affordable treatments that still work.
Her office is currently located above Whole Foods on 57th Ave. Parking is limited but there are multiple floors to choose from so the only inconvenience is having to take an elevator up or down. It's also quite a walk down the hall to her office if you're there for the first time.
Regulars know that usually there's someone in the waiting room who can open the door for you.
To my understanding she accepts Humana and AvMed. I'm sure there's a longer list but I'm not aware of it.
If you don't have insurance, a pap test can cost you up to 200 dollars. Just letting you know.
Go to someone you can trust with your most private area.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Good Time S.Fort Lauderdale, FL116882Jul 2, 2018
Morning, afternoon, doesn't matter - barely 1 seat in waiting room. They are way overbooking appts! I've waited no less than 30mins, and an hour on the last visit. Complete waste of time. Disrespectful. And they make you fill out your paperwork EVERY year - almost like they don't keep it, or are losing it. I've always had a personal feeling around my doctors, they all remember and recognize me. Suffice to say, I spent my hour wait in my last appt combing Yelp reviews and Blue Cross directory finding a new MD, got one, I'm outta here! 1 star for free parking. Other than that, the staff all needs to be swapped out with people who like to work, and are efficient.

Dr. Letty Villa has been my Obgyn for 19 years.
Despite her busy practice, she will always returns my calls and address my concerns.
Dr. Villa is highly experienced and very professional!
Her office is beautifully set and cozy.
I have referred her to friends and clients and they have been equally content with her.
I pray she keeps working for many years to come!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maya R.Coral Gables, FL14331Sep 11, 2015
Dr. Villa is a great doctor. She is someone I can talk to. She is very knowledgeable and gives excellent recommendations. However, the office management is a disaster. The phones are rarely answered, they don't call back, they don't follow up, you have to be on top of everything with them, and that gets to be so frustrating, one has to forget about Dr. Villa. If you have an urgent matter, or a critical condition, this is not the office to turn to. The horrible thing is that, in my experience, other gynecologists' offices are not much better. But I consider this one to be one of the worst.
The patient that wrote about the long wait, and then another long wait for an ultra sound with a painfully full bladder.., the same exact thing happened to me. I am always prepared to wait for at least an hour before seeing the doctor. I have to go in prepared with my list of things to make sure I am the one to follow up with the referrals, prescriptions and subsequent appointments.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hadassah I.Washington, DC0411Jun 17, 2015
Dr. Villa has been my gynecologist since she saved my life by performing successful surgery on an ectopic pregnancy in 1999. I can count on her to be effective, astute, and kind. She has always taken as much time as I needed to discuss my health. As my needs have changed, so have her care and her advice. I frankly dread the day, may it be far in the future, when she decides to retire!
I don't write many yelp reviews, but was quite shocked at some of the negative comments, and felt that it was important to speak up. These comments are not representative of Dr. Villa's patients.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
