Remote-styled, pen-like design and more: The oddest phone designs of all time

By Mashable ME

Samsung Serene

Created in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen, one side was the screen, while the other one was the round keyboard. Apart from the awkward design, the phone didn't have essential features like an MP3 player, video recorder, or 3G connectivity.

Nokia 7600

The teardrop-shaped was designed to attract the younger demographic. However, the keys surrounded the screen, making the phone difficult to type on or even calling.

Siemens Xelibri 6

This compact powder-shaped phone, featured two mirrors, one with a magnifying effect. It was designed keeping the women's target audience in mind.

Haier P7 Pen Phone

This was a bulky pen phone, with everything crumped up closely. Despite its battery lasting upto six days, the design made it impossible to sell it.

Toshiba G450

The phone was split into three parts, the first was the screen, and it had two keyboards. This made typing on it confusing and counterintuitive.

Nokia N93

The 2.4-inch screen could open vertically or horizontally, or be twisted into a camcorder. However, its clunky design made it too bulky to be carried around.

Samsung Galaxy Beam

The phone may seem ordinary in terms of design, but it's far from it. Samsung decided it was a great idea to add a mini projector, which could project videos and images up to 50-inches in size at a distance of up to six feet. But the outdated software didn't help its sale.

LG Wing

Despite its swivel screen, users could run an app on the horizontal display and access its controls on the vertical screen. Alternatively, users could run one app on the horizontal display and another on the vertical display.
