Sony Must Face PlayStation Wireless Controller Tech Patent Suit

Sony Group Corp. and Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. must face a patent owner’s lawsuit alleging the electronics giant’s PlayStation 5 DualSense Wireless Controller infringed three patents, a Texas federal judge ruled.

Resonant Systems Inc., which does business as RevelHMI, adequately identified the product Sony used to allegedly infringe three patents concerning “linear vibration modules,” Judge Rodney Gilstrap of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas said in an Sept. 5 order. The judge said this was enough for RevelHMI’s infringement claims at this stage of the case.
