Sony Pushes for PlayStation Tech Patent Suit’s Shift From Texas

Sony Group Corp. told a Texas federal court the patent infringement case involving its PlayStation 5 DualSense Wireless Controller should move to California despite the plaintiff’s argument that it can’t use its US unit’s headquarters to establish venue because it’s not a party to the suit.

Resonant Systems Inc., which does business as RevelHMI, sued Sony Group and its Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. subsidiary in October 2022 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging the gaming system wireless controller infringed US Patent Nos. 8,860,337; 9,369,081; and 9,941,830.
