Born Nicole Evangeline Lilly on August 3, 1979 in Canada, she is now known as Evangeline Lilly, who plays Kate Austen on the hit ABC series Lost.
While Lilly had appeared in several TV shows (Smallville, Kingdom Hospital) and films (Freddy Vs. Jason, The Lizzie McGuire Movie) in the background, Lost was her first speaking role. She had been well prepared for her role on Lost in other ways – she had previously spent some time working as a flight attendant for Air Canada; also, as a teenager she traveled to the Philippines as a missionary and lived in a grass hut.
In 2007 Lilly was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama (Lost). She is rumored to be engaged to her Lost co-star Dominic Monaghan.
