Madonna is an American singer-songwriter, actress and entrepreneur. She rose to fame in the 1980s. Her 1984 album Like a Virgin became the first by a female artist to sell over 5 million copies in the U.S., and the title track topped Billboard's Hot 100 chart for six consecutive weeks. Madonna is a seven-time Grammy Award-winner who has sold over 300 million records. She is known for songs such as "Material Girl," "Crazy for You," "Papa Don't Preach," "Vogue," "Justify My Love," "Secret" and "Ray of Light." Her most famous films include Desperately Seeking Susan (1985), A League of Their Own (1992) and Evita (1996).
