NEW YORK (PIX11) — With reportedly hundreds of illegal marijuana shops popping up in New York City, it may be difficult to know if the weed you’re buying has been tested and is safe to consume.

Here are the places you can legally buy recreational marijuana in New York City.

The Bronx

Statis Cannabis Company

Statis Cannabis Company is owned by a former special education teacher, and her business partner has experience selling marijuana before it was legal. Statis Cannabis Company is the first woman-owned, minority-owned dispensary opening in the Bronx.

Hours: Open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.

Manhattan

CONBUD

Dazed Cannabis is a black and veteran-owned dispensary in Union Square. Dazed offers merch and curated playlists to bridge the gap between cannabis, entertainment, art and music.

Where: 33 Union Square West, Manhattan

Hours: Open 8 a.m. to 12 a.m., seven days a week.

Gotham

Gotham is unlike any other dispensary. Not only will you be able to legally purchase marijuana, but you will also be able to find items like pillows, books, pottery, candles and even clothing. The arts are going to be a big part of the experience. Gotham will showcase art, music and performance on a rotating basis.

Where: 3 East Third St, Manhattan

Hours: Open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week

Gotham Buds

Where: 248 W 125th Street, Central Harlem

Hours: Open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week

Housing Works Cannabis

Housing Works Cannabis has the distinction of being the first-ever legal recreational dispensary in New York City. All the proceeds from this store go to Housing Works’ efforts to help people with a history of substance abuse or those who have been homeless or arrested for weed possession.

Where: 750 Broadway, Manhattan

Hours: Open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday through Wednesday; 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Delivery: Yes, to select zips in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens

Smacked

Smacked LLC, is owned and operated by Roland Conner and is New York City’s first cannabis shop run by someone with a past marijuana conviction. The dispensary received money from the New York Social Equity Cannabis Investment Fund, which is designed “to support equity entrepreneurs at the forefront of the adult-use cannabis market.”

Where: 144 Bleecker St., Manhattan

Hours: Smacked is open Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Delivery: Yes

THC Herbal Care

Where: 1412 Lexington Ave.

Hours: Not listed hours.

Union Square Travel Agency

Union Square Travel Agency is run by a subsidiary of the nonprofit The Doe Fund, which works to help people struggling with poverty, homelessness, and incarceration. Union Square Travel Agency also partnered up with a delivery service called Doobie to deliver.

Where: 62 East 13th St., Manhattan

Hours: Sunday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Queens

Good Grades

Good Grades is a women-owned, family-operated business run by Extasy James and her cousin. The dispensary is Queens’ first cannabis shop, operated by someone with a past marijuana conviction.

Where: 162-03 Jamaica Avenue, Queens

Hours: Open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week

Delivery: No

Terp Bros

Terp Bros is located in Astoria Queens, and their website says they are more than just a dispensary; they are also a community.

Where: 3610 Ditmars Blvd, Queens

Hours: Open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Cannabis Place

The Cannabis Place is delivery only right now in Queens, but they have a location in New Jersey for those who’d like to shop in person.

New York’s legal dispensaries sell marijuana products that are grown and tested to meet the state’s safety standards. The new legal dispensaries are among a dozen locations set to open throughout the state of New York by the end of 2023, according to officials.
