Having recently wrapped up their 'Against The Odds' tour across the UK and US, it seems like Blondie are getting back into the studio to work on a new album. This time around they'll be joined by Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock.

Glen joined Blondie on their recent tour after their bassist Leigh Foxx suffered a back injury. As Leigh is still recovering, Glen will play on their next album which follows on from their eleventh studio album 'Pollinator', which was released in 2017.

The group's guitarist and co-founder Chris Stein told Classic Pop magazine: "Glen has just been great. Unlike ‘Pollinator’, we’re mostly keeping this album in-house: it’s just the band and Glen playing on it. He’s fitted right in."

While there isn't a date set for when this new music will be coming out, the group did treat fans to the release of a rediscovered home recording of their 1978 track 'Mr Sightseer' in early August.

Listen to 'Mr Sightseer' by Blondie:

After being remastered by Michael Graves, the track made it onto their first box set archive, 'Blondie: Against The Odds 1974 - 1982', which was released on 26th August.

The box set contains 36 unreleased songs, out of a total of 124 tracks as well as remasters of original analog tapes. Chris said of the release: "I am hopeful that this project will provide a glimpse into the ‘process’ and some of the journey that the songs took from idea to final form."

Take a look through some of Blondie's biggest moments:

1974 - Debbie Harry and Chris Stein meet

Debbie Harry was in the female trio The Stilletos when she met fellow musician Chris Stein. The pair then formed genre-spanning band Blondie in 1974 and started playing in clubs in New York.
