Pogostemon Erectus is a very unique and beautiful high tech species that has very thin leaves 1-2” in length. Color can range from lime green to golden yellow, and shape is similar to that of an evergreen tree limb.
Erectus readily grows branches from the lower sections of its stems. With proper trimming it can make a very beautiful midground/background bush. It isn’t an overly demanding species, but can be a bit more picky than some of the easier high tech families like Ludwigia and Rotala. It likes soft water, steady CO2, and moderate to high lighting. Growth is reasonably slow when compared to other stems.
