Maximum Size: 3”
Aggression: Low, Social
Temperature: 72-82 F
pH: 7-8
Hardness: 10-25 dH
Brackish Tolerance: 1.000-1.005
Minimum Tank Size: 30 gallons
Feeding: Pellets and Flake food make a good staple, supplemented with frozen brine or Mysis shrimp. Pieces of earthworms also a good occasional treat
Notes: Though the common name of this fish is the “Celebes Rainbowfish”, it is not a Rainbowfish at all (Family Melanotaeniidae), rather it is in a completely separate Family (Telmatherinidae).

Active and somewhat skittish, Celebes Rainbowfish need a lot of open swimming space as well as tank decorations or plants. Floating plants like Watersprite are good for providing much needed cover. They are very social fish and need large groups (8-10 being a good minimum); for best coloration and behavior, stock them in ratios of about 1 male per 2 or 3 females. They are not aggressive fish and can be kept with other easy going fish like Poeciliid livebearers and smaller Gobies.

Celebes Rainbowfish can be jumpy and so should only be kept in tanks that are fully covered. They do seem to appreciate high water flow and oxygen content and so Powerheads should be considered.
