The rig for Queen Azshara is one of the most complex and robust that I have ever built. The build process involved many months of R&D, trial-and-error, creation of new systems, and the actual build. To date, this is one of my favorite rig builds.
Rig stats: 329 skinned joints, 570 animation controllers, 5 body tentacles, 9 head tentacles, 5 eyes, 4 arms, 1 crazy rigging artist.
