The All Mighty Bobby Lashley began his second reign as WWE Champion at the Royal Rumble, when he dethroned Brock Lesnar to capture the championship with help from Roman Reigns.
Lashley is close to becoming a Grand Slam Champion in the company, having held the WWE, Intercontinental and United States Championship on two occasions each, but he’s still a Tag Team Championship reign short.
This is something that Lashley knows. Speaking with Graham Matthews of Bleacher Report, Lashley said that when MVP is ready to return to the ring, he hopes that he and MVP can make a chase for Tag Team gold.
He said:
“One thing I haven’t won yet in WWE is a tag team title. MVP’s been rehabbing. I just saw him post something again [recently] on Instagram doing some work and I know he’s getting ready. Every time he sees me, he says, ‘Bro, I’m almost there, I’m almost there.’ He’s putting on some good weight and he’s training. Me and MVP might do a run at the tag team titles, also. There are so many different possibilities right now I’m excited about.”
The titles are currently held by Alpha Academy, who are set for a clash with RK-Bro over the titles in the future.
Lashley currently holds the WWE Championship, and is set to defend the title inside the Elimination Chamber next weekend.
