Beckinsale, who has been synonymous with bombshell brunette hair since the early 2000s, just made a major, major change for a Roger Vivier holiday dinner in Los Angeles. The actor ditched her long hair in favor of a beachy, wavy bob, but the real shocker is that she's now a bright, sunny blonde.
Hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos transformed the star from her go-to highlighted brunette to a light, golden, near-platinum blonde, which he cheekily called a “blob,” a.k.a., a blonde bob, on Instagram. It's not an all-over color, but rather a rooty blonde that transitions from light brunette at the root to pale gold mid-lengths and ends. Beckinsale's bob hits between her chin and collarbones and is styled in tousled waves to show off the color. Makeup artist Jose Corella paired the blonde with a vibrant red lip that matched Beckinsale's crimson suit and a shimmery gold eye. I've got just two words for this: Bomb. Shell. (Okay, technically, that's one word, but I digress.)
While we have a feeling Beckinsale's blonde moment is a temporary one, it's a really fun look for the star — not to mention a complete and total transformation. Seriously, if you passed her on the street, you probably wouldn't recognize her. A day earlier, Beckinsale attended the Elle Women in Hollywood event with her usual long brunette hair worn in a looped, twisted updo paired with a high-neck, jewel-covered gown and matching manicure.
The actor has been blonde before, but usually for roles and not red carpets. In 2019, she went blonde for Jolt, and in 2021, she rocked a blonde wig for her role in the series Dark Comedy. Do blondes have more fun? Maybe Beckinsale will let us know.
