Temperament: The Zebra Pleco is a shy and nocturnal species, and may be territorial over small spaces.

Aquarium Setup: The Zebra Pleco prefers a rocky bottom with fast flowing, well oxygenated water. Must have many hiding places created among rock and driftwood. Zebra Plecos are a sensitive species that requires good water quality. Feeding: The Zebra Pleco usually won’t eat algae. Will eat any regular foods in aquarium hobby, and will eat greens such as blanched zucchini and cucumber. Give them a varied diet.
Breeding: Increase the water temperature and feed them with high quality live or prepared foods. Give enough room for two, and let them do their thing. Males are broader in the head area, and have a larger pectoral fin.
