Origin: Striped Anostomus (Anostomus anostomus) originates in the Amazon and Orinoco Rivers.

Temperament: Striped Anostomus (Anostomus anostomus)  is aggressive towards its own kind but usually peaceful with other fish species. They will occasionally nip the fins of long-finned fish.

Company: Striped Anostomus (Anostomus anostomus) can be kept in a peaceful community tank.
