Very nice!!
Most people mistake them for Corydoras melini or Corydoras metae.
Check your specimen carefully. Either the caudal fin is suffering from tail burn or flukes. Take note.
Cheers,

more info at http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog...dora/291_F.PHP. davidsandsi is similar to C. melini both fish have a black stripe running from the lower dorsal fin to the lower caudal fin just past the caudal peduncle. In C. davidsandsi the line splits above the caudal peduncle (best viewed from above) and in most other species it does not split. Additionally, aside from the vertical eye stripe and the aforementioned back stripe, the flanks of C. davidsandsi are without further pigment, differentiating it from C. melini.
I got them from TB Ben. If you are not familiar with the LFS, do a search in the forum and you will be able to find the address.
I *think* they should be available at C328 and the other cory hangouts as well. Maybe other members can advise.
I need more tanks! Pity I couldn't get more of them.Originally Posted by benny
Was staring at them for a while to ensure it is correct as labelled.
Yeah, am monitoring them, seems to be okay for now.
It is named after Dr. David Sands. Familiar name? You may have come across his books on catfishes in the bookshops or the Internet.Originally Posted by fireopal

Guess what, while meddling with the tank, saw this little fella peeping out from the Cryptocorynes. Never thought I would find one that would survive the community tank, with lots of potential predators.
The patterns and masks definitely look like a C. davidsandsi. But do the young have what I thought were spots on the body? If not, then other cories are involved as well.
Sorry for the poor quality, just grabbed, point and shoot.
that looks like a sands fry to me, well done on finding the fry it will do well in your tank with all that cover.
dave sands is a mate of ours, he gave me some after he had got his name to them.
hope you get many more fry, congrats bud.
cheers

Ooh!! Congratulations on the accidental discovery! Hopefully, it's not the lone survival from the spawn. Do keep us updated.
