The closet at the Bedford, New York, home of Ralph Lauren is outfitted with mahogany millwork, giving the room the refined air of an English estate. When remodeling his New Jersey home, Yankees star pitcher C. C. Sabathia requested a spacious closet to house his extensive collection of shoes. Architect James Paragano and interior designer Martin P. Mitchell outfitted the room with rows of Macassar-ebony cabinets, along with a dry bar. “I could live there for weeks,” says Sabathia of the ultramasculine space. (November 2010)
