Freshwater mollusc belonging to the Neritidae family.
It is a small snail that measures approximately 2.5 cm in length and is characterized by its black and white striped shell which gives it the appearance of a zebra, hence its name.
The Neritina zebra is native to Africa and Asia, and it is found in the shallow waters of rivers and lakes. It is a gregarious snail which likes to live in groups and which likes well planted aquariums with hiding places. The Neritina zebra is a peaceful species.
Fairly easy to care for, but needs a varied diet and adequate living conditions to stay healthy.
Neritina / Vittina are big eaters of green and brown algae films that grow on glasses and decoration. They also accept fish food (flakes, tablets).
