Review: Louis Vuitton Maison Champs-Élysées
Photos
A Louis Vuitton mecca!
For die-hard luxury and Louis fans, there's no outpost more symbolic or prestigious than the brand's impressive perch on the well-heeled corner of the Champs-Elysées and the avenue George V. The largest location in the world, the five-floor store occupies a listed Art Deco building with a period dome visible from both ends of the avenue.
What do they usually have here?
You'll find everything from traditional leather goods, handbags, and ready-to-wear to homewares, jewelry, and even art books.
If money’s no object, what goes in the cart?
Say, an exotic-skin bag you won't find back home.
And for a more, say, budget-friendly souvenir?
Snap a photo—it's invariably the only affordable memento.
Who else shops here?
Swarms of tourists, many of whom brave all manner of weather conditions and lines. In many cases, it's for items that aren't available elsewhere—and at better prices than their home countries.
Anything else we should know, or should look out for?
The grandeur of the space itself is enough to draw a crowd, but the luggage room is perhaps the most impressive, occupying a dramatic space with 66-foot-high ceilings.
