Firefighters in Rocky Hill responded to a fully involved car fire on Interstate 91 Sunday evening.
The incident was reported at about 6:03 p.m., about a quarter mile before Exit 23 on I-91 southbound, according to the Rocky Hill Fire Department.
Firefighters found the car pulled over in the breakdown lane, fully engulfed in flames. The occupants were able to make it out safely prior to the firefighters’ arrival.
Fire trucks were used to block the breakdown lane and two other lanes while firefighters used a non-PFAS foam to put out the blaze.
No injuries were reported.
The scene was cleared by about 7:04 p.m., firefighters said.
