Since Hostess debuted Ho Hos in 1967, it hasn't tinkered with the flavor of its chocolate-cake-and-vanilla-creme-swirled treats. Until now.

The snack cake maker announced yesterday that Peppermint Ho Hos—a chocolate cake with a pale pink, peppermint-creme filling—would be hitting grocery stores any day now. They're already listed on Walmart's website, though you have to go to your nearest store to pick up a box.

Ho Hos aren't the only Hostess snack to get the seasonal treatment—the brand's putting that breath-freshening frosting to use in another limited-edition release with its Merry Minty Holiday Cakes. These chocolate cupcakes have a green, minty creme filling and a matching green frosting atop the cake, which is dusted with red and white sprinkles, lest you stumble upon these treats in late February and mistake them for St. Patrick's Day sweets. (The horror!)

The company hasn't announced whether its other snacks will be getting dolled up for the season, though given that Sno Balls are dyed for every holiday—and typically don their winter white around this time of year—and the recent array of limited-edition Twinkie flavors (Pumpkin Spice, Banana, Chocolate Creme-filled, just to name a few), we wouldn't be surprised if more were on the way.

This release is just one of several red, green and snowy-scene-bedecked boxes hitting grocery store shelves this week, and it certainly won't be the last. M&Ms' seasonal flavors—including its brand-new Café Mocha and Hot Chocolate varieties, as well as a returning favorite, White Chocolate Peppermint—are being stocked nationwide, as well as dessert-themed Pringles crisps and dark chocolate-mint Kit Kats
