24 fans, don't give up hope on a Jack Bauer comeback just yet.
Fox has announced plans for a new series - 24: Legacy - without original lead Kiefer Sutherland, with a pilot episode filming this winter.
But while Sutherland vowed last year that he'd never play Jack again, he's now given us a glimmer of hope.
"Jack Bauer might end up finding his way into an episode one day," he said in a recent Q&A with TIFF Live. "And clarifying all of that, or ending all of that."
It's not much, but we'll take it. In the meanwhile, Sutherland said he is backing 24: Legacy - on which he is expected to serve as an executive producer.
"I have said from the beginning that the real star of 24 is the idea - and I mean that wholeheartedly," he said. "I have every faith they'll do something cool and clever."
Legacy will follow a new hero - war veteran Eric Carter - who returns to the US and is caught up in a large-scale terrorist plot.
Sutherland meanwhile will be getting a serious promotion - playing the President of the United States in ABC's drama pilot Designated Survivor.
