Description

These shrimp are called “vampire shrimp” because it is an omnivorous filter feeder that uses it’s feather like claspers to filter particles from the water. Don’t be fooled by the name, these shrimp are extremely docile and shy, they get along with other shrimp species as well as others of the same species. You should avoid pairing these shrimp with any aggressive fish like cichlids, gold fish, and any other semi-aggressive fish that will attempt to eat the vampire shrimp. Although, due to the size they do not become targets too many fish. They typically can reach sizes up to 5-6 inches in length, and they are also a lot bulkier than other shrimp
