Who is the Echinodorus Tenellus?
This small Echinodorus has fine, short lance-shaped leaves. With its small size and turf effect, it will be perfect to dress the foreground of your aquarium. However, be aware that its foliage is never very dense, but rather high and scattered. In excellent conditions, you can even hope to see it bloom!
It can also be kept emergent in a humid environment: it will be perfect for your paludariums.
Planting and maintenance
Planting and maintenance
How to plant and maintain the Echinodorus Tenellus?
For a beautiful carpet, plant 5 or 6 feet every 10 cm (4") while leaving a gap of a few centimeters between each foot. Its plants with fragile roots should preferably be installed in fine sand in which it can root easily.
If you wish a nice green carpet, install your feet of Echinodorus Tenellus in full light and make ferrous fertilizer contributions. Because of its need for light, this plant will be more at ease in a low water level: perfect for nano-aquariums!
Side parameters of water, it is relatively adaptable, even if a temperature of 24°C or 75°F seems ideal. The diffusion of CO2 is not obligatory but nevertheless recommended.
Finally, it is vulnerable to filamentous green algae. Remove these algae as much as possible and rebalance the biology of your aquarium to stop algae invasion.
Cut from time to time with scissors in the height and the plant will form new leaves.

How to farm the Echinodorus Tenellus?
This plant multiplies while forming many runners or rejects (up to 2 per week!), you will thus not have much to make, except if you wish it to cut its runners to transplant the seedlings at the desired places.
