Vintage from the 1950s

This is a set of eight botanical specimens, collected in Finland between the summers of 1952 and 1955. The size is reasonably large at c. 10 by 16 inches each (c. 25.5 x 41 cm).

This particular set employs a clever - and very tidy - technique for affixing the specimens by adhering the adhesive tapes to the back of the pages, with only a small cut made around the stems to allow the tape to pass through.

As these are around 70 years old, the plants can be quite brittle, sheet edges have imperfections, sheets can have creases/holes and the paper can be stained by the plants. So, please see photos thoroughly to notice any possible imperfections before making a purchase.

All in all, these have an authentic pleasantly rustic quality to them and they are still holding well together for their age.

These come from a pet free and smoke free environment. No moldy smell or other odors.

I don't. But what I do use is very bright studio lighting, in order to simulate what the frames would look in good lighting conditions, such as outside on a sunny day. So just find a spot with proper bright lighting in order to bring out the colors yourself. (Also, never judge ANY color under a fluorescent tube ceiling light, ever.)
