The eldest son of Emmerdale stars Charley Webb, 36, and Matthew Wolfenden, 43, looked almost unrecognisable after undergoing a major hair transformation this weekend. Proud parents Charley and Matthew shared that their 13-year-old had decided to cut off his famous long locks for a whole new style, which the former joked added years onto him.

Taking to her Instagram page, the actress shared a selfie with Buster sporting his long brown hair one final time before having inches cut off at a salon. Hours later, she followed up her post giving fans a side view of his new haircut alongside the caption: "Hair's gone. I basically have a 19 year old."

Matthew also took to his page to share a front view of their teenager's new hairdo, praising the look with a fire emoji. Buster had rocked the long-hair look for many years with his younger brothers Bowie, six, and Ace, three, who have seemingly kept their locks.

The former couple's children are regularly seen on their respective Instagram pages enjoying fun days out as well as Tik Toks at home. Amongst the majority of positive comments, some had been critical of the boys sporting long hair which had prompted Charley to hit back.

Back in 2019, a nine-year-old Buster was seen defiantly posing in a T-shirt which read: "Long hair. Don't care, boy." Hitting back at haters, Charley wrote: "I get asked so many times on here why my kids have got long hair.

"‘Why don’t you cut it?’ Or, ‘They look like girls’. The answer is really simple, because we like it and more importantly they like it."

The Long Shadow star went on to urge those leaving negative comments to "focus" on their own lives and not let her children's appearances worry them.

She continued on her page: "I think people think they have a right to have an opinion because of social media. Maybe you do.

"But try keeping it to yourself, it’s not important to us what you think of how our kids look. Or how we look. Or their names or whatever it is you might want to comment on.

Matthew Wolfenden gives insight into living situation after Charley Webb split

"I was always taught, if you’ve got nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Try practising it peeps."

Elsewhere on Matthew's page on Sunday, the actor told fans their son had been following in his footsteps by performing in stage show Oliver!

The proud dad, who took on the main lead in Elf The Musical last year, shared a picture of Buster in action on stage amongst the cast taken at Leeds Playhouse.

He wrote: "Buster smashing it in Oliver!," followed by a drawn on love heart around him.

Back in September, Charley took their three sons to watch Matthew perform at one of shows over Christmas.

The outing came just a month after she and her ex confirmed they had split after five years of marriage.

In a statement at the time, she shared: "It is with love and respect that Matthew and I have decided to separate.

"We remain friends and our priority is the love for our children."
